About Me

I am Sarah (of course) and I am currently a SAHM to three very active kids - two boys and a girl. My oldest son Seth is 7, my daughter Kaia is 2 (3 in June), and my youngest son Odin was born 7/7/07, making 9 months (at the time I wrote this, anyways). Right now I pretty much only take pictures of my own kids, but I would like to be in business when my kids are a bit older, and a bit less demanding of my undivided attention.

I’ve been interested in photography for as long as I can remember, and I used my first SLR (the school’s K1000) way back when in middle school. I took my first photography classes in college, intending to complete a minor in photography to go along with a BS in Computer Science, but I took an indefinite hiatus from school beginning in 2003 to stay at home with my son because I felt like I was missing out on too much with him while I was at school. Meanwhile, two more kids came along, and in the summer of 2007 my husband bought me my D80 and I started pursuing photography more seriously on my own.

Since then I’ve been reading, studying, learning, and practicing all that I can, and I’ve started this blog to document my progress.. and well, because “everyone has a photo blog” and I felt that I should too My current focus is on exploring modern portraiture, and my style lends towards clean bright colors and high contrast.
